Програма мережевої академії Cisco надає студентам можливість набути знання, необхідні для роботи в сфері ІТ. Програма включає матеріали, які доступні через Інтернет, електронні системи оцінювання знань, практичні лабораторні заняття, а також курси з підготовки для отримання професійних сертифікатів.

На відміну від інших академій, Мережева академія Cіsco ННК «ІПСА» орієнтується на більш детальне вивчення теоретичних основ технологій комп'ютерних мереж. Масу ж лабораторних робіт у рамках курсу і додатково розроблених інструкторами студенти виконують як при сприянні інструкторів, так і самостійно.

Курси, які викладаються в регіональній мережевій академії Cіsco ННК «ІПСА»:

CCNA

CCNA Courses 1 through 4 of the Academy program, equivalent to 280 hours of instruction, provide students with a basic foundation in networking. Students who successfully complete this portion of the program are eligible to earn Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA™) certification. The first four courses are available at the secondary and post-secondary levels.

CCNA Exploration

The Cisco CCNA® Exploration curriculum provides a comprehensive overview of networking; from fundamentals to advanced applications and services. It is based on a top-down approach to networking that is popular in many colleges and universities. This course emphasizes theoretical concepts and practical application, while providing opportunities for students to gain the skills and hands-on experience needed to design, install, operate, and maintain networks in small-to-medium businesses, as well as enterprise and service provider environments.

CCNA Exploration offers in-depth theory, challenging labs, and a detailed overview of protocol operations. It is designed for students with advanced problem-solving and analytical skills, such as degree candidates in engineering, math, or science, or for working professionals who would like to advance their careers or gain certification. CCNA Exploration was designed to be integrated into technology curricula or continuing education programs at postsecondary institutions such as technical schools, colleges, and universities.

CCNA Discovery

The Cisco CCNA® Discovery curriculum provides foundational networking knowledge, practical experience, opportunities for career exploration, and soft-skills development to help students prepare for entry-level careers in IT and networking. The curriculum offers a hands-on approach to learning, and uses interactive tools and easy-to-follow labs to help students learn the general theory needed to build networks.

CCNA Discovery is designed to be offered as an independent, standalone curriculum or combined with programs offered by secondary schools, technical schools, colleges, and universities. Students who enroll in CCNA Discovery are not expected to have any previous technical skills or knowledge, aside from basic PC skills.

CCNP 1 through 4

CCNP 1 through 4 of the Academy program, also equivalent to 280 hours of instruction, are more advanced. Students learn about complex network configurations and how to diagnose and troubleshoot network problems. Students who successfully complete the advanced curriculum are eligible to earn Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP™) certification. The second four courses of the curriculum will be taught primarily at the post-secondary level.

IT Essentials I

IT Essentials I: PC Hardware and Software presents an in-depth exposure to computer hardware and operating systems. Students learn the functionality of hardware and software components as well as suggested best practices in maintenance, and safety issues. Through hands on activities and labs, students learn how to assemble and configure a computer, install operating systems and software, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems. In addition, an introduction to networking is included. This course helps students prepare for CompTIA's A+ certification.

IT Essentials II

IT Essentials II: Network Operating Systems is an intensive introduction to multi-user, multi-tasking network operating systems. Characteristics of the Linux, Windows 2000, NT, and XP network operating systems will be discussed. Students will explore a variety of topics including installation procedures, security issues, back up procedures and remote access.

JAVA

Fundamentals of Java Programming is a 70-hour course which provides a conceptual understanding of Object Oriented programming. The course also teaches students how to use the JAVA language's object oriented technologies to solve business problems. Topics also include the language fundamentals, the Java language API (application programming interface). Students will learn how to create classes, objects and applications using the language. Additionally, the course will address the demand for training and preparation for the Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 Platform.

Network Security

Fundamentals of Network Security will teach students to design and implement security solutions that will reduce the risk of revenue loss and vulnerability. As with existing courses offered by the Cisco Networking Academy, the focus of the course will combine hands-on experience, instructor-led and e-learning for students.

The 70-hour course will be an introduction to network security and overall security processes. There will be particular emphasis on:

  • security policy design and management;
  • security technologies, products and solutions;
  • firewall and secure router design, installation, configuration and maintenance;
  • AAA implementation using routers and firewalls;
  • VPN implementation using routers and firewalls.

This course prepares students to take the SECUR (Securing Cisco IOS Networks) and CSPFA (Cisco Secure PIX Firewall Advanced) exams in preparation for the Cisco Firewall Specialist.

PNIE

The Panduit Network Infrastructure Essentials (PNIE) Course delivers innovative network infrastructure solutions with real-world experience to prepare for future certifications. This course aligns to the Panduit Authorized Installer (PAI) global certification and covers basic cable installer knowledge, how to build and administrate the physical layer of network infrastructure, and deeper understanding of the networking devices that this layer interconnects.

UNIX

Fundamentals of UNIX® teaches you how to use the UNIX® operating system and introduces you to the CDE, GNOME, and KDE graphical user interfaces (GUI). An overview of the Sun Solaris and Linux versions of the UNIX operating system is provided. The class is for new users of the UNIX operating environment. You will learn fundamental command-line features of UNIX including file system navigation, changing file permissions, the vi and emacs text editors, Korn and Bash shell features, and basic network use. GUI features include Application Managers, File Managers, Text Editors, printing, and mail.

Wireless LANs

Fundamentals of Wireless LANs is an introductory course that will focus on the design, planning, implementation, operation and troubleshooting of wireless networks. It covers a comprehensive overview of technologies, security, and design best practices with particular emphasis on hands-on skills in the following areas:

  • Wireless LAN setup & troubleshooting;
  • 802.11a & 802.11b technologies, products and solutions;
  • Site Surveys;
  • Resilient WLAN design, installation and configuration;
  • WLAN Security - 802.1x, EAP, LEAP, WEP, SSID;
  • Vendor interoperability strategies;
  • Wireless bridging.

This course will prepare students to achieve the Cisco Wireless LAN Support Specialist designation.
