Education and Professional Activities. Higher education, the Department of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics of Lviv University named after Ivan Franko, speciality – “applied mathematics”, Candidate of Physico-mathematical Sciences, Senior Researcher.

In 1979, after graduation from the university, O.Kirik studied at the postgraduate course at the Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of NAS of Ukraine (Kyiv), where she stayed to work after defending her thesis. Since 1982 – she worked as a Junior Researcher and Senior Researcher at the V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of NAS of Ukraine. Since 1996 - a Senior Researcher at the Educational-Scientific Complex «Institute for Applied System Analysis» of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, 2000 - a Scientific Secretary of the Educational-Scientific Complex «Institute for Applied System Analysis» of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. A Candidate of Physico-mathematical Sciences (1984), has the title of a Senior Researcher (1993).

She is engaged in a wide range of issues associated with scientific and organizational work, the international activity of the Institute and integration of educational and scientific work.

 

Scientific Work. She combines the administrative activities with scientific work in the field of theory and methods optimization. Scientific interests are related to the development of numerical methods of mathematical programming, including problems of large dimension, arising in economics and management; numerical analysis of mathematical models of complex systems, optimal control of power systems.

She participated in many international conferences, was a performer and responsible executive of 16 research projects.

Her researches, related to gas transport optimization systems, were presented at international exhibitions of oil - and gas equipment, and included to the catalog «Software of Ukraine».

O.Kirik is the author of more than 80 scientific papers, has a copyright certificate for gas networks calculation computer system.

 

She is the Member of the Optimizers European Society  (EUROPT),  awarded the decoration «For Professional Achievements» (2008) by National Academy of Sciences.

O.Kirik is engaged in the attraction of students to scientific work within the scope of the field experience, and writing of term papers and diplomas.
